Real Madrid 'confident of signing Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe and will loan him back to Ligue 1 champions for a season', repo

Real Madrid are confident they will win the race to sign £100m teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in Spain.

Mbappe, 18, is the most wanted player in Europe, with clubs in England, France and Spain all heavily linked to the Monaco forward.

Monaco's Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain have been particularly heavily linked, but Real are reportedly confident he will resist their overtures and sign at the Bernabeu.

Accoring to Spanish sports newspaper AS, Real plan to sweeten the deal with Monaco by loaning Mbappe back to them for a season, also so he can gain more first team experience.

AS have splashed the story across their front page, and in the headline have christened this as 'The summer of Mbappe'.

Mbappe was crucial for Monaco last season as they won the Ligue 1 title for the first time since 2000 and reached the Champions League semi-finals.

He has also broken into the France squad, and is expected to start in Tuesday night's friendly international against England.

It will only be the teenager's second international start, and he will line up ahead of Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann rather than in a partnership.

The France manager, Didier Deschamps, said Mbappe does not necessarily need to stay at Stade Louis II and gain first team action next year, but simply needs to be 'efficient' when he does play.

Deschamps said on Monday: "Game time on the pitch is not a precise or exact science. What is more important is they need to be efficient on the pitch."
