Real Madrid confident of deal for Liverpool's Xabi

Real Madrid are convinced they can land Xabi Alonsi from Liverpool in a £11 million summer deal.

The Mirror says while Alonso is happy on Merseyside, Real feel the lure of the Bernabeu will be too great for the midfielder to resist.

And although Reds boss Rafa Benitez has spoken warmly of Alonso's efforts at Anfield, Real believe he would sanction a deal at the end of the season.
