Real Madrid confident of £18M deal for Arsenal's Cole

Real Madrid's board are confident they can knock out a deal for Arsenal left-back Ashley Cole at the end of the season.
 
Cole's tapping probe with Chelsea has ended their interest in his signing and he continues to baulk at committing himself to a new deal at Highbury.

With just over a year left on his current contract, the Daily Mail says Real Madrid are now turning their attention to Cole whom they believe they can tempt from Arsenal for around £18 million.

Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo has pumped his England stars for information on Cole, who is regarded by those in Sven Goran Eriksson's squad as the best left-back in the world.
