Real Madrid confident Ancelotti is theirs

Real Madrid are demanding AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti confirm their pre-contract agreement within seven days or they will turn to alternative candidates.
 
Despite denials from Milan and Ancelotti, AS says a pre-contract between the Italian and Real Madrid has existed for two months.

A Real powerbroker said today: "Ancelotti is a professional and it is normal that until the outcome of the Scudetto is known he will not say anything."

"But we know that the cycle he has created there is now over and that the challenge of Real Madrid is very attractive to him."

"If he wants to respect the signed contract, he will be our trainer next season."

Real insiders insist Ancelotti's comments last week that "there is no hope" of him coaching Real was due to pressure from vice-president Adriano Galliani, who insisted that all Madrid speculation be stopped for the sake of their Scudetto race with Juventus.
