Real Madrid coach: We do miss Makelele

Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz has admitted his squad could have been stronger.

He told Marca, "After July we suffered losing Makelele (to Chelsea) and Milito (who joined Espanyol)."

"The club told me we would carry on without trying to find replacements. We'd rely on the current squad and also the youth players and then reassess in January."

"After every game we all sit down and assess how the team is developing. This coming month we will take things even more seriously. We will decide if we can strengthen the team with what is available on the market."
