Real Madrid coach slams refs: They're wrecking game

Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz rapped the match officials after yesterday's 4-2 win at Espanyol.

Ronaldo (2), Roberto Carlos and Raul Bravo struck for Real, but it was the strict refereeing that infuriated Queiroz.

"It's ridiculous that we have match officials who want to run games with a magnifying glass, trying to pick up every little incident," said Queiroz. "It wrecks the game as a spectacle."

"I hate criticising referees. But this is hurting the players, the fans, the spectacle of football."

He added, "We took more risks in the second-half, our play was more open and that helped us overcome an enthusiastic Espanyol."
