Real Madrid coach Ramos: I'm not trying to prove Spurs wrong

Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos believes he's proved wrong his doubters at former club Tottenham.

Ramos said: "I'm not here because I want to prove something to anybody in England or wherever. I'm here to work and coach this team and get results."

Madrid have slashed Barca's 12-point gap at the top to just four points and tonight's El Clasico derby at the Bernabeu is the most hotly-anticipated in years.

As he addressed the press at Real's Valdedebas training ground, Ramos had the look of a man with renewed confidence after a nightmare end to his Tottenham career.

He said: "It's true I could never had imagined when I was sacked by Tottenham that within six months I would have helped Madrid to the best run of results in the history of the club.

"But we've not achieved anything yet and even if we win tonight Barcelona will still be leaders and a point ahead of us."
