Real Madrid coach Mourinho: I didn't deserve Ballon d'Or

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho says he didn't deserve the Ballon d'Or for 2011.

Barcelona rival Pep Guardiola won the award, with Mourinho missing the gala ceremony.

He explained: "I'm very sad for not being able to be in tonight's FIFA gala. I speak for myself and I believe Cristiano feels the same. It is an honour to be amongst the three best coaches of last year. I don't think I'll win the award this year and I think that's fair. I deserved it in 2010 because I won the treble, but I don't this year. I think in order to win you have to win the Champions League or one of the great championships, and I only won the Copa del Rey."
