Real Madrid Coach Manuel Pellegrini Confident Of Fightback Against Lyon

Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini insisted that his side can overcome the one goal deficit after his side fell to Lyon in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout clash.

Jean Makoun scored the only goal of the game shortly after the restart but Los Merengues rode their luck at times with Les Gones going close on a number of other occasions and Pellegrini had to admit that their opponents gave Madrid trouble.

"It was not a good result, because we lost and did not score, but I'm confident that the team will overcome. I do not think that Madrid think about the failure to get to the quarter finals in the previous five years. We are upset but we will not lose hope," he told the press afterward before admitting his team lacked creativity.
