Real Madrid coach Luxemburgo fed up with Ronaldo

The relationship between Ronaldo and Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo is on the skids.

Marca says in recent weeks the situation between Luxemburgo and Ronaldo, which wasn't strong to begin with, has deteriorated markedly.

Luxemburgo is angry with his fellow Brazilian's attitude in training and work ethic, particularly compared with his high-profile teammates such as Roberto Carlos, Raul and David Beckham.

Since February 14, Ronaldo's wedding celebration day, the striker has not been able to put in a full week of training - much to Luxemburgo's frustration. The Real coach has told his inner circle of his exasperation with the striker and his belief that Ronaldo must be at 100 per cent, physically, if he is to reach his potential in games.

Indeed, former Brazil and Napoli star Careca is quoted in the Sao Paulo press this week, saying: "Luxemburgo has been waiting a long time for a fully fit Ronaldo. He is asking a lot of Ronaldo."

"I am sure Ronaldo will return soon to convince everyone of his ability."
