Real Madrid coach: I'm sad for Roberto Carlos

Real Madrid coach Mariano Garcia Remon has urged fans not to boo wing-back Roberto Carlos.

The Brazilian international was barracked by the home crowd in Real's 1-0 win over Osasuna on Tuesday night and Remon said: "I knew that the public were going to boo the players, because we know that things have not been going well."

"But I was surprised that they targeted Roberto Carlos. He did not expect it and he was very hurt."

"I spoke with him during the game about the situation. I wanted him to know that we were supporting him."

"It was a very difficult night for him. It was very sad."
