Real Madrid coach delighted with Beckham delivery

Ivan Helguera headed home for Real Madrid in last night's 1-0 Champions League win over Juventus.

Helguera scored from a David Beckham free-kick after a half-hour and coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo reflected afterwards: "We trained the same free-kick yesterday with David Beckham taking it 30 or 40 times from the same place. We knew it would be very important against Juventus."

"Real Madrid played a great game and 1-0 is a good result but we had the chance to score two or three goals, nevertheless 1-0 is probably as good as 3-1."

The coach insisted that his side would approach the return leg in Turin with the same attitude that they had displayed in the first tie.

"We have to go and think that the second leg is 0-0 again, before today I said it was 180 minutes, now we have to start the second half," Luxemburgo continued.

"We will go to Turin to play like a big team, we could never think we would qualify here, that will be done in Turin."

"We always had four or five players behind the ball, when Roberto Carlos went forward, Beckham dropped back, we knew they were effective on the break."
