Real Madrid coach Capello pushes for Diarra deal

Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello is confident they can land Olympique Lyon midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.

The Mali star is being lined up should Real fail to prise Kaka away from AC Milan. AS says Capello has already sounded out Diarra's representatives about a move to Madrid.

Diarra is desperate to join Real, but must wait for the outcome of their pursuit of Kaka.

Real president Ramon Calderon and sports chief Predrag Mijatovic are both determined to sign the Brazilian, however Capello and director Franco Baldini are urging them to step up negotiations for Diarra before the summer transfer window closes.
