Real Madrid closing in on Sevilla striker Fabiano

Real Madrid are preparing a bid for Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano.

El Mundo Deportivo says Real chiefs see Fabiano as cover for centre-forward Ruud van Nistelrooy and knows the Brazilian will seek a move away should Sevilla fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Sevilla share Fabiano's registration with a Brazilian investment company and must move in the coming months to meet a deadline to buy out their 65 per cent share.
