Real Madrid close to Metzelder agreement

Real Madrid have moved ahead of Italian rivals Juventus and Inter Milan for Borussia Dortmund defender Christophe Metzelder.

The Germany international is thought to have already passed his medical with the Liga club and agreed financial terms.

Metzelder is believed to have agreed pre-contract to 2011 worth £2.8m a season.
