Real Madrid close in on Santos ace Ricardinho

Real Madrid are ready to sign Santos midfielder Ricardinho in December.

The Brazil international comes off contract before the January market opens and Santos are dragging their feet over offering new terms.

Ricardinho is aware of Real's interest, which is being pushed by coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo. Luxemburgo wanted his compatriot added to this season's squad over the summer, but as he is still contracted to Santos, negotiations proved too complicated.
