Real Madrid chiefs ponder Owen offer for Arsenal's Reyes

Real Madrid have discussed offering striker Michael Owen to Arsenal in part-exchange for Jose Reyes.
 
The Sun says the Spanish giants are also considering using the 25-year-old England striker as bait to lure Manchester United into selling fed-up Ruud van Nistelrooy.

But Owen is beginning to feel more at home after a difficult start following his £8million move from Liverpool last summer.

And he has made it clear he will resist any attempts to oust him just 12 months into a four-year deal worth £75,000 a week.

Owen said: "I am happy and I am certainly not setting any criteria for wanting to go."

"Unless someone tells me anything different, I expect to be playing here next year."

"I will never be happy making up the numbers. The people here wouldn't respect you if you were sitting on the bench just picking up your money."
