Real Madrid chiefs discuss player contracts this week

Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo will immediately go into discussions over new contracts for his players after the Champions League clash with Juventus.

Vice-president Emilio Butragueno and general manager Arrigo Sacchi will consult Luxemburgo as soon as he returns from Turin over his plans for Luis Figo, Ivan Helguera and Iker Casillas, who are all inside the final 18 months of their current deals.

All three powerbrokers are said to have already agreed on the renewal of Casillas' contract, while Helguera and Figo are yet to be seriously discussed.
