Real Madrid chief tightlipped on Beckham-Arsenal talk

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham has been linked with Arsenal.

With the England skipper putting off new contract talks, speculation has emerged linking Beckham with a move to Highbury.

Its been suggested Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to offer £10 million, plus midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, in exchange for Beckham.

Swedish international Ljungberg has been a long-term target for Real, which came close to signing the midfielder before Carlos Queiroz's arrival as coach last year.

Quizzed about the speculation yesterday, Real sports chief Emilio Butragueno neither confirmed nor denied their interest, instead insisting he wouldn't comment on "newspaper rumours".
