Real Madrid chief plays down interest for Roma duo

Real Madrid sports director Jorge Valdano has played down reports linking the club with AS Roma pair Francesco Totti and Walter Samuel.

Both players are believed to be under consideration by Real, particularly with Roma needing to sell at the end of the season to lighten massive debts.

Asked about Totti and Samuel, Valdano said: "They are both great, great champions, but neither of the two re-enter in our strategies."
