Real Madrid chief opens door to Liverpool over Figo deal

Real Madrid vice-president Emilio Butragueno has kept the door open to Liverpool over a deal for winger Luis Figo.
 
Figo has gone with Real on their pre-season tour of the US and Asia, but doubts remain about his future at the Spanish club.

Liverpool are refusing to pay Real's £2 million asking price for Figo, who has agreed personal terms with the Reds on a £60,000-a-week contract.

But Butragueno has hinted at a compromise, saying late last night: "We hope that we reach an agreement that satisfies both sides."

"Luis is an extraordinary professional and we have a very good relationship with him."
