Real Madrid chief hits back at Arsenal boss Wenger

Real Madrid sports director Jorge Valdano has hit back at Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Wenger claimed Real lacked "class" over their apparent interest in star striker Thierry Henry.

But Valdano was quick to defend Real last night, insisting: "The words from Wenger make no sense.

"Real Madrid are the subject of all transfer rumours. We cannot control what the media reports from day-to-day. The only thing we do control is our conduct. And yes, we DO control that."

"At no moment have we publicly tried to sign a player."
