Real Madrid chief: Flavio on way to Middlesbrough

Real Madrid sports chief Jorge Valdano has confirmed a deal is close for Flavio to join Middlesbrough.

"The agreement between the clubs is total and Flavio's deal is nearly done," said Valdano yesterday.

Boro are yet to confirm whether the Brazilian will be arriving on-loan or in a permanent transfer.
