Real Madrid chief confirms contract talks for Casillas, Figo

Real Madrid vice-president Emilio Butragueno has confirmed new contract talks will be opened with Luis Figo and Iker Casillas in the coming weeks.

Both players have expressed some frustration at the lack of action coming from the board over their contract status, with the senior pair now inside the last 18 months of their current deals.

However, despite speculation that Real will seek to cash in on both players in the summer market, Butragueno confirmed yesterday that their contract situations will be addressed "in due time".
