Real Madrid candidate threat to Chelsea's Mourinho deal

Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Sobrino wants Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri to join his ticket.

He said: "Claudio Ranieri is a manager that we like and we do not rule out the possibility of contacting him if he finally leaves his current club."

Ranieri bossed in Spain at Valencia and Real's city rivals Atletico Madrid before landing the Blues job in 2000.

Sobrino is also interested in Jose Mourinho and is seeking talks with the Porto coach in a late bid to convince him to snub Chelsea and join Real next season.
