Real Madrid can forget Man Utd's Van Nistelrooy - Queiroz

Manchester United assistant coach Carlos Queiroz has told former club Real Madrid to forget about trying to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Dutchman was a major target for Real president Florentino Perez last season, but has since committed his future to Old Trafford.

Queiroz told Marca: "I know Ruud very well and he is very happy at Manchester United."

"Ruud van Nistelrooy will finish his sporting career here."

The Portuguese coach also was asked about United's interest in Real midfielder Santiago Solari.

"I am not going to comment publicly about this subject. In the Press they report many things that are typical of the preseason."

"Also one has said that we wanted to sign Figo. I prefer not to comment about that."
