Real Madrid boss Schuster: Ref stopped it being 1-5

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster hit out at the match officials after their dramatic late derby win over Atletico last night.

Schuster is convinced Ruud van Nistelrooy was wrongly sent-off after Atletico defender Luis Perea had been dismissed.

He claimed: "Van Nistelrooy's red was a matter of compensation. The dismissal of Perea was clearer. What happened to Ruud was excessive, no doubt. From then starts the trouble."

"On the field there was only one team dominating and with a clear colour."

"The referee has been the factor as to why we have not won 1-5."
