Real Madrid boss Schuster: I must improve my image

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster says he is working on improving his image and relationship with the media.

Schuster has been criticised for his manner during media conferences and stormed out of one at Recreativo Huelva inside less than a minute!

The German told AS : "I know that I must change my image. In the last two press conferences against Valencia and Sevilla, nobody could have a complaint about me."

"Look, I am human and also can feel bad. When we lose, I take ten minutes in the dressing room to get my emotions in check before I have to come out and see you guys. But then, I arrive in the room and it's obvious with their questions that people are looking to make me explode."

He added: "Man, I am not going to lie to you, I like a little praise just like anyone else. Although Schuster seems angry whenever we lose, when we win, I like to be praised. Coaches need this more than people are aware."

"I am not a man of stone and I have been wounded several times."

"But I am feeling better. I had dinner with the president (Ramon Calderon) over Easter and he said, 'German, be calm, because the Madrid project will remain in your hands'. Now I know I have his full confidence, this is very important for me."
