Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho rules out a summer move for Tottenham's Gareth Bale

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has denied he will make a summer move for Tottenham star Gareth Bale.

After the Welsh winger admitted he would consider a move away from White Hart Lane if he received the right offer, Mourinho explained that the amount of money being talked about for him would rule Madrid out of contention.

"I think for the amount of money involved, it is not easy to buy and we have players for that position," he told The Sun.

"We have Cristiano Ronaldo who plays in the same position he plays, and Marcelo at left-back."

"When you want to spend big money you do it in areas where you have problems."

And the Portuguese boss admitted he wasn’t surprised the Welshman was becoming one of Europe’s hottest properties after noticing him while he was in charge of Chelsea. However he conceded that wrestling Spurs’ prize asset away from the club would be a difficult task.

"I was one of the first to say he will be an amazing player," he continued.

"I was saying that when he was not known in European football, just in England, so I know the great player he is."

"He is still young and there is a big space for him to improve so he will be a really top, top, top player. I have no doubt about that."

"But Tottenham is not a good club to sell. It is a club that buys."
