Real Madrid boss Ancelotti: Ronaldo deserves recognition alongside Di Stefano

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to stand with Alfredo di Stefano as the club's greatest.

Ronaldo was mentioned alongside Di Stefano by Real president Florentino Perez this week.

Ancelotti said: "I think so. Cristiano Ronaldo has that image. Placing him close to Di Stéfano, with everything that he meant to this club, is a very good source of motivation for the future. He deserves it."

On his favourites for the Ballon d'Or, he added: “The results speak for themselves in Cristiano Ronaldo's favour. The Germans won the World Cup, but other than them I don't see any other possible rivals to him."
