Real Madrid boss Ancelotti: I've not spoken to Xabi about contract

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says he hasn't spoken with Xabi Alonso about his contract.

The Spaniard's deal expires in June.

Ancelotti said: “We at the club don't have that information. Whether he renews or not, he's our player until this summer and we hope that beyond that too. He's very important to the team and if he's available, he'll play. I haven't spoken with the club because I don't need to. All the staff would like him to renew his contract because he's a very important player and one of the best midfielders in the world."
