Real Madrid boss Ancelotti excited by Bale, Benzema potential

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is delighted with the form of Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

Both players struck in Real's rout of Champions League opponents Schalke in midweek.

"He's returning to full physical and mental fitness, and you can see it on the pitch. He scored a wonder goal against Elche and played very well against Schalke. He has gained confidence and is linking up well with his teammates," Ancelotti said of Bale.

On Benzema, he added: "He's showing the same quality as always. He has an amazing eye for goal, but now he's more involved in the team's play and is so much more than just a striker. He's comfortable in possession and I hope that continues."
