Real Madrid board split over Robinho future

The Real Madrid board are split over the future of winger Robinho.

The Brazil international has struggled to make an impact this season after falling out with coach Fabio Capello.

Half the Real board are keen to use Robinho as part of a cash-plus-swap offer for AC Milan star Kaka at the end of this season. However, there are also directors convinced that Robinho has a future in Madrid, particularly if Capello leaves in the summer.

The sticking point will be Capello's situation, with the board reluctant to part with a big compensation fee - which will be due should the Italian be dismissed.
