Real Madrid Birthday Boy Arjen Robben Feeling Great

Dutch wing-wizard, Arjen Robben celebrated his 25th birthday and he revealed his joy at finally being able to put his injury troubles to bed.

Ever since his €35 million-plus move from Chelsea to Real Madrid in the summer of 2007, Arjen Robben has had to contend with a multitude of injuries as his Los Blancos career threatened to take a nose-dive even before it began.

But over the past few months, the Dutchman appears to have completely recovered from his health issues and he is now slowly returning to top form.

“I am in good form right now, that is certain. Physically speaking, I feel phenomenal and everything is going great for me,” he told the club’s official website while he celebrated his birthday yesterday [January 23].

Having netted in Madrid’s last three games, Robben is, indeed, the form player in the squad at present but he chose to put emphasis on the team as a whole rather than on his own recent displays.

“Scoring is always great, but it is not a priority of mine."

“We’ve put together a nice winning streak, we’ve improved in defence and opponents are having trouble scoring against us and all that matters now is we continue winning to keep our league and Champions League hopes alive,” he stressed.

For a birthday present, Robben was presented with a special Real Madrid paddle racket, a sport which he loves playing during his spare time.
