Real Madrid battle Barcelona for PSG defender

Real Madrid and Barcelona are going head-to-head for Paris Saint Germain defender Gabriel Heinze.

The Argentine has already seen a £3 million offer from Barca rejected by PSG, while Real president Florentino Perez is believed to be stepping up his interest this week.

PSG trainer Vahid Halilhodzic insists Heinze is not for sale: "I must defend the interests of PSG, and this interest is that Gabriel Heinze will stay next season: I do not wish to sell any more of our best players."
