Real Madrid, Barcelona contact AC Milan for Pirlo

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have registered their interest in Andrea Pirlo with AC Milan in recent days.

Marca says Barca asked after Pirlo during negotiations for the sale of Gianluca Zambrotta to the Rossoneri. Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon, meanwhile, sounded out Milan supremo Adriano Galliani at Flavio Briatore's wedding about their star midfielder.

However, both Spanish giants received little encouragement.
