Real Madrid Are Not Concerned About Barcelona - Manuel Pellegrini

Real Madrid currently find themselves five points off the pace in the Primera Division after being beaten by Athletic Bilbao last weekend, but coach Manuel Pellegrini stressed that his side are only concentrating on their own results as they look to reduce arrears.

"Whether Barcelona win, lose or draw, the game against Malaga will have the same importance for us," he explained to AS.

"We are not worried about Barca, just about playing a good game and then we will see, game by game, how the points difference is changing."

However, Pellegrini knows the importance of winning against Malaga. The relegation candidates may be just one point above the drop zone in 16th place, but they have not been beaten in nine outings.

"La Liga isn't over because there are still 60 points to play for, which is a lot of points. We are interested in beating Malaga and, without a doubt, we must improve if we want to pick up the points."

Among Pellegrini's concerns are the lack of goals from his side, having only scored three in three games in 2010. Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to find the net since los Blancos' 6-0 rout of Real Zaragoza on December 19, but his coach feels that the goals will come.
