Real Madrid announce new signing Altintop undergoing surgery

Real Madrid midfielder Hamit Altintop is to undergo surgery.

Altintop is set to undergo back surgery next week, the Primera Division team have announced.

The Turkey international joined Jose Mourinho's side on a four-year deal last month from Bayern Munich although his appearances for the German club were limited last season as he struggled for fitness.

In a bid to address the problem the Germany-born player will have an operation next Monday in Germany.
