Real Madrid angered as Makelele fronts for France training

Claude Makelele has infuriated Real Madrid officials by fronting for France national team training yesterday.

The midfielder has refused to train with Real over the past week citing an "anxiety attack" and presenting the club with a medical certificate.

However, Makelele appeared in good spirits and trained with his international teammates ahead of France's match against Switzerland on Wednesday.

The player's agent, Marc Roger, is seeking a new contract for Makelele and has threatened to move him to another club - possibly Chelsea - if Real refuse to open negotiations.
