Real Madrid & Sevilla Set Jan 2 Date For Replay

Real Madrid issued a press release on Thrusday night in which they expressed their "understanding" at Sevilla's request to play the postponed Liga match on January 2.

The game was postponed due to Real Madrid's International Cup commitments in Tokyo on Monday night. Negociations with Sevilla stumbled on a date to find for the match, which will now go ahead after New Year's Day 2003.

Real were uncertain Sevilla would accept the date as the post Christmas period is usually one of the only times of the year they cas actually go back to their families and friends abroad.
