Real Madrid almost certain to make Hazard move next summer

Spanish giants Real Madrid are ‘almost certain’ to make a ‘determined’ approach to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard next summer, according to the Mirror.

Eden Hazard, 24, has struggled for Chelsea this season – like so many others at Stamford Bridge – as he is yet to score in Premier League, or any competition for that matter.

The Belgium international was the Premier League’s standout talent last season as Chelsea won their first league title since Hazard had arrived at the club. He scored 14 goals in the top flight and provided an awesome attacking threat down Chelsea’s left, which saw him pick up the PFA and FWA Player of the Season awards.

Now, though, his form is worryingly in decline and the former Lille star forward may well be coming to the end of his time in west London with Chelsea.

Rumours have picked up pace over his future in the past month or so and now the Mirror is reporting that Real Madrid – who lost their first game under Rafael Benitez at the weekend to Sevilla – are ‘almost certain’ to bid for the Belgian winger next summer.

Elsewhere, it has been claimed by Goal that the player in question has become disillusioned working under manager Jose Mourinho, an individual whose own future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain for less flattering reasons.

With Cristiano Ronaldo’s future under constant speculation in Spain, also, there may well be space for Hazard next summer should the former Manchester United superstar want a new challenge.
