Real Madrid alerted as Arsenal to invite Pires offers

Arsenal are ready to listen to offers for midfielder Robert Pires.

The 30 year-old French international is still in talks with Gunners chiefs over an improved contract.

However, the Independent says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is willing to sacrifice Pires to fund his own transfer plans.

Real Madrid and Valencia have been linked this year and a £12 million offer would make Arsenal consider selling the midfielder.
