Real Madrid ace makes Ronaldo and Griezmann claim before Atletico Madrid clash

Dani Carvajal has put Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann in the world-class bracket like his Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid host Atletico in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie tonight (7.45pm).

Ronaldo has been in prolific form this term for club and country, hitting 41 goals this season.

Griezmann, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, will be eager for revenge against Real following his side’s Champions League final defeat last term.

And Carvajal thinks the Frenchman can be spoken of in the same breath as Ronaldo.

“They are different players, two world class players," Carvajal said.

"Griezmann is a great player and last year he was close to winning the Champions League and the European Championships, which is what Cristiano won."

"I wish him a successful career, apart from in this tie."

Real warmed up for the game with a 2-1 win over Valencia in La Liga on Saturday.
