Real Madrid ace Diarra: Arsenal boss Wenger taught me never to trust anyone in football

Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra has taken a swipe at his former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Diarra had an ill-fated period at the Gunners after joining them from Chelsea.

The France international recalled to AS: "Look, today I understand. I've learned that when you give complete trust to someone it's not good."

"When I arrived at Arsenal I thought that, being French as I was I had high hopes. And perhaps the disappointment at how everything went was created by my own expectations. I left Arsenal disappointed."

"Today, I have to thank him (Wenger) because it taught me that in football you should not trust anyone. In football, the truth is on the pitch and nothing else. At that time, I was too naive."

"When I met Jose Mourinho I was young, but everything was different because he treated me as his son, although I was the youngest of the team and he helped me a lot."

"However, at Arsenal it was quite the opposite. I will not say I have a grudge against Wenger, but hey, in life you cannot get along with everybody."

"I respect very much what he did, but his behavior was not very good with me. These things happen in life."
