Real Madrid deputy 'keeper Cesar Sanchez has had enough of playing second fiddle to number one Iker Casillas and wants to leave the Bernabeu.
Sanchez joined Real last year from Valladolid but with Casillas in such sparkling form, he has hardly figured in the side at all and wants to leave this summer.
Things have come to head and Cesar, tired of waiting for his chance, asked Sports Director, Jorge Valdano to put him on the transfer list on Thursday afternoon. Real Madrid are keen to see that Cesar stays put but if push came to shove then they may offload the player to bring in cash to the club.
Real paid Valladolid 3 million pounds ($US 4.5m) for Cesar last July but by selling him, they could easily quadruple that figure. One thing's for sure, Real Madrid will not let rivals Barcelona poach Cesar - the club are expected to keep Cesar waiting until they have settled Casillas' situation, with the idea that Casillas will not be able to hold out for a huge pay rise whilst Cesar is still at the club.
