Real happy with Copa del Rey draw

Real's Copa del Rey draw against Canarios and Lanzarote has gone down well with the club’s general director Emilio Butragueno.

Madrid travel to the islands for the knockout tie on November 28 and like in the last round at Pajara Palayas de Jandia, they will play on an artificial pitch.

"In normal circumstances, we would have no problems passing through to the third round with a draw like this," Butragueño said, "The only sore point is the long journey to the Canaries but we'll be in the same conditions as we were in the last round and I hope that the result will be the same as then."

Lanzarote, currently in 16th place in Group III of La Segunda B have already taken one scalp from La Primera in the competition, thrashing Tenerife 5-1 in the first round, but team coach Juan Antonio Machín will be asking his players to make a concerted effort against heavyweights Real.

"We'll need to be running at 130 per cent to beat Real, we saw how Las Palmas scored a win over them with sheer determination and blind faith and we'll be doing the same.

"The draw has been a pleasant surprise for us and we hope that it will be a great party," Machín said.
