Real face Inter in pre-season clash

Hector Cuper's Inter Milan will be Real's rivals in this year's Trofeo Bernabeu tournament, due to be held in the capital in the summer.

The tournament, now in its 23rd year, will be staged at the Santiago Bernabeu on August 14.

Inter were pencilled in to star in the competition last year but opted out leaving Atletico Madrid to fill the gap.

Real now have most of their pre-season prepared; they jet out to Nyon, Switzerland on July 23 and will remain their until August 1.

A friendly with an international side has been booked for August 4 although confirmation of a rival is still pending.

Between August 9-11, Real will be in La Coruna competing for the Teresa Herrera trophy with Deportivo, Montevideo's Penarol and Sporting Lisbon amongst the confirmed participants.

The Trofeo Bernabeu will take place on the 14, then at the end of the month, the Merengues will get a chance to pick up their first piece of silverware of the new season.

Real will also play the winners of Saturday's Copa del Rey between Zaragoza and Celta Vigo in the Spanish SuperCup, which is to played over two legs on August 19 and 22.

Elsewhere in the capital, Real's neighbours, Atletico Madrid will be hosts to Boca Juniors in their pre-season stage competition, Villa de Madrid to be held at the Vicente Calderon on August 21.
