Real defender Samuel out for Kiev match

Real Madrid defender Walter Samuel will not travel to the Ukraine for a Champions League Group B clash against Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday after injuring his knee last week, the club said on Monday.

The 26-year-old Argentine centre-back damaged the cartilage in his right knee in a King's Cup victory over third-division Leganes.

Real, Kiev and Bayer Leverkusen are tied on six points from three games in Group B. AS Roma have yet to earn a point.
