Real defender Samuel doubtful for Kiev match

Real Madrid defender Walter Samuel is doubtful for next week's Champions League Group B match against Dynamo Kiev after injuring his knee in Tuesday's 2-1 King's Cup victory over Leganes.

The 26-year-old Argentine centre-back damaged the cartilage in his right knee against the third division side and is definitely out of this Sunday's league match at home to Getafe.

Club doctors said they would wait until Monday before carrying out further tests to decide if Samuel would be fit to travel to Kiev for Wednesday's match.

Real, Kiev and Bayer Leverkusen are tied on six points from three games in Group B. AS Roma have yet to earn a point.
