Rayo Offer Del Bosque and Hierro Chance To Stay In Madrid

Rayo Vallecano have made an audacious bid to install Vicente Del Bosque as the club's director of sport and Fernando Hierro as team captain.

The Madrilenian club have contacted the pair with their offer and are hoping to hear back towards the end of the week.

Del Bosque has been told that he is wanted to head a new project at Vallecas club that was relegated from the first division at the end of the season.

After leaving Real Madrid on Monday, Del Bosque may fancy the role that will see him oversee all non-coaching activites with the first team including deciding who to buy and sell.

Rayo claimed that Del Bosque reacted to the offer positively and has asked for time to think about the proposal.

Hierro may also find the chance to stay in Madrid a tempting one, even if it will mean dropping down a division.

But Rayo face tough competition from Malaga, who are also set to offer the former Madrid skipper an offer to resume his career at the top level.

Hierro is from the Andalucian town and his brother, Manolo, is the techincal secretary at the club.

But Rayo and Malaga will both have to wait for Hierro to return from his summer holiday where he is weighing up his options whether to remain in Spain or move abroad.
